All Singing, All Dancing, All Snacking, All Reading at the Nurses' Ball

Many actors read to pass the time between takes. Kin Shriner (Scott) opted for People magazine, while Julian Stone (Jerry) perused Christopher Vogler's 'The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure for Writers', and Wally Kurth (Ned) tried to get through 'The Pilot's Wife'. "My wife (Rena Sofer; ex-Lois Cerullo) gave it to me. It's from Oprah's book club," Kurth noted. "But it's hard to concentrate because Nancy (Grahn; Alexis) is singing 'Annie Get Your Gun' songs in my ear. She just saw it in New York."

When she wasn't crooning, Grahn was engaged in an L.A. Times crossword puzzle contest with Leslie Charleson and Stephen T. Kay (Monica and Reginald). "We're crossword maniacs. We're very competitive. We always get down to the last two words, then we start scurrying around for help. I recall 'Lester' winning last time, and I actually threw my paper down: 'Damn!'" Grahn confessed, referring to Charleson.
